John Scott won the NHL All-Star Game MVP award, and Twitter reacted.
Typically, a piece like this is making fun of some poor guy who is playing like hot garbage. It is reserved for Matt Cassel on national television or the Philadelphia Eagles looking lost on Thanksgiving.
This time around, we are celebrating one of the great stories in recent memory with NHL journeyman John Scott winning the NHL All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award. Scott was much maligned by folks around the game, including some in the league, for deciding to play in the contest after being voted in by the fans. Eat it, suits.
Here’s some of what the Twitterverse had to say:
John Scott is owning his press conference right now. "It was the coolest thing I've done in hockey," he said about this weekend.

#JohnScott should thank the #NHL for fumbling this so badly. And the league should thank Scott for handling it so perfectly. #ASG

John Scott on his 1st person story: "I got sick & tired of reading that I was just a slow-footed goon that was here as a joke." #NHLAllStar

And then, for the epic troll by a team toward a player…
