2. Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have a lot of work to do with their roster. After making the Western Conference Finals and looking like a championship contender, the Rockets are anything but now and could very well lose center Dwight Howard after the season.

Howard has a player option in his contract and with the incoming salary cap spike, Howard could make even more than he is expected to make currently. There has been whispers that the Rockets could look to move Howard rather than lose him for nothing.

How about a superstar swap between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets? A deal of Kevin Love and Timofey Mozgov for Dwight Howard works financially for both teams and could give both exactly what they need.

Love would be in a place where he wouldn’t have to worry about the pressure and he could flow offensively with James Harden on the court. More importantly, the Rockets would have a superstar locked up with Harden for a while and they would firmly put themselves as a top team for top free agents.

The Cavaliers would get a dominant center to anchor the post and it could give them more space on the court to do things. Against the top teams in the Eastern Conference in the playoffs and potentially the top teams in the Western Conference in the NBA Finals, the Cavaliers are going to need a player like Howard to clear the glass and clean up the boards.

The Cavaliers could also give Howard the money he wants in the off-season if he decides to opt out of his contract.
