These are the five replacements the Phoenix Suns should look at after firing Jeff Hornacek.

The Phoenix Suns are plummeting to the bottom of the standings and they’re moving on from head coach Jeff Hornacek. Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced during the middle of the night early Monday morning, that league sources said the Suns had fired Hornacek.

The Suns are in the midst of a skid where they have lost 19 of their last 21 games. The problems for the Suns extend way past this season. The team under-performed last season after winning 48 games the year prior and it seemed as if Hornacek lost the locker room.

He constantly had trouble with the Morris twins and even after the twins were split up, he still had his issues with Markieff Morris that dominated headlines and caused a distraction. While the team lost both of their point guards in Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight, the team wasn’t doing much better when they had them on the court.

The Suns really put Hornacek on the hot seat in December, when they fired his two top assistants Mike Longabardi and Jerry Sichting. With Hornacek’s top assistants gone, the writing was on the wall for him and the Suns were never able to get any semblance of anything going on either end of the ball.

The Suns will probably hire an interim from the bench to finish out the season, but they will have a big decision to make in the off-season and will have some intriguing options available to them.
