Take a look at the five must-have 2016 FloridaĀ football recruiting targets.

Florida football hasn’t quite been the same since the days of Urban Meyer – aĀ time whenĀ Tim Tebow won a HeismanĀ and the Gators won a pairĀ of national titles. Since then, the program has been searching for answers and shuffling through head coaches, trying to land on one who will turn the program around for the better.

Jim McElwain just might be that guy.

In his first year as head coach of the Gators in 2015, McElwain led Florida to a 10-4 overall record and an SEC East Division title with a 7-1 record in conference play. The Gators went to the SEC Championship Game but fell short because of mediocre quarterback play from sophomore quarterback Treon Harris, who was filling in for the suspended starter Will Grier.

Speaking of Grier, he decided to transfer after the season, meaningĀ the quarterback job will now be an open race, withĀ many believe incoming four-star freshman Feleipe Franks will take over. He’s one of the top 60 players in the country for 2016 and even participated in the Army All-American Bowl.

Florida currently has the fourth-best recruiting class in the country, and it might rise even more come National Signing Day if the Gators can add the five must-have targets remaining on this list.

Who do the Gators need to sign by Wednesday in order to lock downĀ this top-five class? Let’s look at five can’t-miss reruits.
