2. Chris Brown,Ā 3-star S/CB

Not to be confused with the R&B artist, Chris Brown is one of the better remaining uncommitted talents in the 2016 class. With the ability to play either safety or cornerback, the talented defender has a wide range of expertise and would be tremendous addition to the class who would also have the potential to earn some significant early playing time.

Heck, if Brown added some muscle weight, he could even play linebacker. However, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound defensive back could join a Houston class that has three cornerbacks and twoĀ safeties already committed, but he might be the best out of all.

The Cougars are returning no starters at either safety position for 2016 and just one starting cornerback. That leaves three possible positions in which Brown could contend for playing time at and even start as a true freshman.

It seems as if Tom Herman’s plan is to keep Texas’ top talent in the state as well as Houston’s in the city. Brown is from Houston and could bolster the defensive backfield instantly. He holds 23 offers currently includingĀ top-tier programs such as Texas, Florida, Michigan, UCLA, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

BrownĀ is listed as a three-star recruit and the No. 431Ā player in the class, the 26th-best safetyĀ and the 68th-best player in Texas, according toĀ 247Sportsā€˜ composite rankings.
