Former New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck officially announced his retirement from the NFL.

One of the great defensive ends of the last decade is calling it a career. On Monday, former New York Giants and Oakland Raiders defensive end Justin Tuck officially announced his retirement from the NFL.

Tuck was drafted out of Notre Dame in the third round in 2005, and quickly became one of the most dominant defensive ends in the league for the Giants. He helped lead the Giants defensively to two huge Super Bowls, including upsetting the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

Tuck announced his decision on his Facebook page.

Tuck finishes his career with plenty of accomplishments, including the two Super Bowls, two Pro Bowls and being selected as an All-Pro.

He finished the final two years of his career with the Raiders and was an influential voice in a locker room that featured plenty of young talent on the rise.

He finishes his NFL career with 66.5 sacks and an impressive 22 forced fumbles. He was an absolute monster out on the edge and created nightmares for all offensive tackles that he lined up against every Sunday. He will forever live on as one of the best to ever suit up defensively for the Giants.
