The defensive back field of the LSU Tigers seems to always have premier NFL talent in it. How LSU recruits in the secondary under head coach Les Miles in part of the reason that the Tigers almost always have one of the toughest defenses to score on. Most years, it’s just not possible to attack LSU aerially.

So how does LSU continue to win in the defensive backfield? By recruiting great high school players all over the Southeastern United States. One player that the Tigers should continue to pursue is No. 72 overall high school prospect cornerback Trayvon Mullen of Coconut Creek, Florida.

The No. 6 cornerback in his high school recruiting class is 6’2″, 180 pounds and runs a 4.53 40-yard dash. Mullen will either play in the SEC at LSU, the ACC at either Florida State, Clemson, or Louisville, or in the Big 12 at TCU.

While the in-state Florida State Seminoles seem like Mullen’s leader, he has LSU as the No. 2 school he’s leaning towards as National Signing Day approaches. Miles like to have big, physical corners that can play well in press coverage. If he can get Mullen into an SEC weight training program, he could become yet another great defensive back for the Tigers.
