These five recruits can help Jim Harbaugh finish off what looks like a tremendous class of 2016 for the Michigan Wolverines.
Just 13 months after being hired as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines after an unceremonious exit from the San Francisco 49ers, Jim Harbaugh has already made his mark in Ann Arbor.
Everyone expected Harbaugh to turn around a sliding Michigan football program, but few could have expected it to come this fast. Harbaugh led the Wolverines to a 10-3 record and Citrus Bowl win in his first season, a massive improvement from the 5-7 mark in the final year under Brady Hoke.
With another year to get Harbaugh’s players in place and an exciting quarterback transfer in John O’Korn, Michigan figures to enter 2016 as College Football Playoff contenders.
Harbaugh’s presence has also been felt on the recruiting trail. The Wolverines are bringing in the No.5-ranked recruiting class in the nation according to Scout.com, with a few more key targets still potentially on the board.
Much has been made of Harbaugh’s recruiting tactics in recent weeks that include sleepovers and going to class with recruits. On the flip side of that, Harbaugh has taken some deserved criticism for pulling longtime commit Erik Swenson’s offer so close to National Signing Day.
In any case, Michigan will be one of the most interesting teams to watch until the February 3 deadline. Harbaugh should be thrilled with how his first full recruiting class has turned out, but a few available targets could really put the finishing touches on.
