One of the first questions asked to Peyton Manning at Super Bowl 50 Opening Night was by a guy in a superhero costume

The media portion of the festivities leading up to the Super Bowl always has a tendency to get a bit strange and, even with the change in timing with Super Bowl 50 Opening Night, that didn’t change on Monday. Denver Broncos quarterback and NFL legend Peyton Manning was one of the first players out to field questions and, well, one of the first questions to him came from an odd source.

While there are a multitude of great questions to be asked to Manning this week leading up to another Super Bowl for him and in what could potentially be his final game, a guy in a superhero costume got one of the first questions in and happened to preface it with an awful “Omaha” related joke:

If you look closely, you can see the Nickelodeon Sports logo on his microphone, which would mean that is the infamous “Pick Boy” who has made his presence heard as a part of the media in Super Bowls of yesteryear.

When people talk about how Super Bowl media day Opening Night is somewhat problematic because of some of the people that they let in to ask moronic questions, this is essentially what they’re talking about. No one needs to hear stupid jokes from a contrived Nickelodeon character when there are much more interesting things to pull from Manning in what could be his final trip to the Super Bowl.
