The Houston Rockets mascot, Clutch, was indeed clutch when he took a court from half court.

There may be a reason why the Houston Rockets mascot is called Clutch. During halftime of the Rockets game, Clutch made a half-court shot. It wasn’t just a normal shot from half court as he decided to take it backwards and throw the ball over his head into the net.

Granny shots aren’t cool when taken from short distances and while facing forward. Yet, they are when Clutch does a backwards granny shot to make it from half court. Clutch must have seen Harden’s three pointer right before the half and decided to one up him.

Most people struggle shooting from half court while facing forward and fail to win whatever the promotion at stake is. However, Clutch is not most people or the normal mascot. He showed it with his ridiculous half court shot during the halftime entertainment and walked off the court like he owned the place.

The next time the Rockets need to draw up a set play from half court they better call upon Clutch to hit the game-winning shot or else they will be embarrassed on the court and regret not subbing in Clutch.
