Did Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema throw shade at the Ole Miss” recruiting success when talking about Florida?
Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema has never been one to be afraid of sharing their opinion. Bielema has often given his opinion on other teams in college football and it’s often gotten him in trouble for some of the things that he has said.
The guy has impulse control and that’s what makes watching an interview with him so much fun to watch. No one knows what he’s going to say next, but the odds are it’s going to be highly entertaining.
With Bielema being interviewed about the Razorbacks’ recruiting class on National Signing Day, Bielema didn’t waste any time mentioning Florida’s recruiting and even may have thrown in some shade at Ole Miss for good measure.
Bielema mentioned that the things the Gators and Rebels do in recruiting are shocking but didn’t get into any further specifics. It’s not clear what he was hinting at, but it’s clear that he wanted to put it out there that those two have something strange going on with their recruiting tactics.
What we do know now, though, is that Bielema did reach out to Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze to say that it wasn’t shade, rather it was a compliment. If you want to believe that or not is up to you.
It’s classic Bielema, as he tries to elevate himself and his program while potentially putting down others. What makes this even better is the look on Bielema’s face as he shudders discussing whatever it is the tactics of those schools are.
Recruiting is a harsh game between programs, but Bielema is doing whatever he can to put Arkansas on top. Even if that means possibly throwing shade at other programs.
