What does FloridaĀ Footballās 2016 recruiting class look like on National Signing Day?
Florida football has put together a rock-solid class in Jim McElwainās second year and thereās plenty of optimism for the future. Finishing as the SECās runner-up in 2015 after a conference title game loss to Alabama, the Gators are looking toward getting back to the top and winning it in 2016.
With the impressive class coming in, thereās no reason Floridaās success wonāt continue under the new head coach. McElwain has instilled a toughness and winning attitude that hasnāt been seen since Urban Meyer roamed the sidelines. Thatās translating into recruiting as well.
The biggest news of the day had to be from four-star wide receiver, and No. 32 overall player onĀ Scout, Tyrie Cleveland who flipped from Houston to Florida. It was a bit of a shock to everyone as it seemed like heād be staying close to home and playing for Tom Hermanās revived Houston program. Cleveland could help boost an otherwise stagnant Florida offense.

Along with Cleveland, four-star quarterback Feleipe Franks, ranked No. 83 overall, and four-star wide out Freddie Swain, No. 82 overall, will definitely provide a lift. Florida will be much better on that side of the ball in 2016.
Defensively, donāt overlook the additions of four-star defensive end Antonneous Clayton (No. 95 overall) and four-star safety Chauncey Gardner (No. 63) who will both be instant impact players.
Overall, Florida didnāt have too many negative surprises and Cleveland was the icing on the cake for the 2016 class.
