Former Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland “dabbed” during Michigan’s signing day event.

Former Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland is known as a hard-nosed coach who motivates his players with toughness and discipline. During his tenure with the Tigers, despite multiple AL Central titles, he was rarely seen with a smile on his face.

However, that has seemingly changed with his retired life as he took to Michigan’s “Signing of the Stars” on Wednesday to flash those pearly whites up on stage with hip hop group Migos, who also made an appearance at the event.

If you didn’t know, the celebrations you see after Cam Newton scores a touchdown — as well as basically every other athlete out there — is known as “dabbing” and it was made famous, or notorious, by Migos.

Probably rehearsed, or planned and researched multiple times by Leyland beforehand, Migos got the former Tigers manager to do the famous dab on stage while the crowd went bananas. Just watch:

Come on, Jim, you’re better than this. Sure, this is all the rage right now, but Leyland may have just killed the movement.

Michigan’s “Signing of the Stars” has been a success so far in the fact that it’s gotten everyone to take notice of the program by getting peoples such as Derek Jeter, Jim Leyland, Tom Brady and Ric Flair on campus. However, let’s just hope this doesn’t turn into the new fad in college football recruiting.
