Now that National Signing Day is mostly out of the way, who had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country?

Wednesday was one of the most exciting day of the year in all of college football, as it brought us National Signing Day. Every year on the first weekend in February, we learn where some of the best high school football players in the country will be playing for the next few years.

Once again, there were a lot of the top-notch programs that landed some of the best that college football has to offer, and with this being the case, there is one question that’s always begged: Who had the No. 1 class in the nation?

Yes, as with anything else in sports, everyone wants to know who the best of the best was. And this does indeed also go for high school football players putting pen to paper and announcing where they will be playing their college football in the future.

But the thing with answering this particular question for National Signing Day is the fact that the answer varies. There are really four main recruiting services in the nation –Scout, Rivals, 247 and ESPN– that analyze, poke and prod these signing classes upside down, and sometimes they come away with some different answers.

So, let’s have a look.

In the cases of Scout, Rivals and 247 (respectively below), it was the Alabama Crimson Tide who came away with the top overall class for National Signing Day.

However, in the case of the folks over at ESPN, they actually gave the nod to the Florida State Seminoles.

You can make your own call, of course, but this is how the experts from the biggest outlets in the country see it.
