Here is a quick injury update on Blake Griffin’s broken hand

The Los Angeles Clippers have been missing Blake Griffin since Christmas. Griffin has not played since Christmas due to a groin injury but he is expected to miss at least one more month as he is recovering from a broken right hand that he suffered in an altercation with a Clippers staff member.

Blake required surgery due to the broken hand. He had a spiral fracture on his fourth metacarpal, an important bone for the finger. There are three bones in each finger. The metacarpal is the lowest of the three.

TMZ has gotten a picture of Griffin’s broken hand that was tweeted out on Wednesday.

You can see the scar pretty well. It should take a while for the bone and the scar to heal. The Clippers are in no position to rush Blake Griffin back because they are doing quite well without him. They have Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, and J.J. Redick stepping up for them in his absence so they don’t really need him to be back until he is 100 percent healthy.

Griffin is averaging 23.2 points per game with 7.0 rebounds per game this season in 30 games for the Clippers.
