Minnesota Timberwolves rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns brought the hammer down on the Los Angeles Clippers.

The young Minnesota Timberwolves have a chance to shine against the Los Angeles Clippers on national television on Wednesday night, and came out hot against the home favorites. Led by Andrew Wiggins in the first half, the Timberwolves got some much needed energy from another star young player to begin the second half.

Rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns made his presence felt early in the second half, with a thunderous slam on an unsuspecting hoop. After DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul went out to double Ricky Rubio, no one rotated back to guard Towns, who was left alone with a wide-open hoop.

The only one near was J.J. Reddick, but his attempt at stopping Towns wasn’t much of attempt, but rather Reddick doing the smart thing and getting clear out of the way.

It’s probably not a good idea to leave Towns wide open with an empty lane to the hoop in front of him. While the Clippers forgot to rotate back, give credit to Rubio for the incredible behind-the-back pass to Towns, who made the most out of the play and got himself a big highlight with everyone watching.
