Playboy reveals cover of first nudity-free issue (Photo)

Playboy released the cover of it’s historic new redesigned magazine.
It was announced late in 2015 that Playboy — which at one point in history was deemed nothing more than a skin rag — would no longer be featuring nudity.
While it’s an empowering move for a new generation of readers, it’s also a move made thanks to how available porn is and how prevalent nudity is in our everyday lives. It’s not taboo anymore, as people run around New York topless to make a point and have nude bike rides and crawls in major cities like Chicago and Los Angeles just for the sake of it.
Needless to say, Playboy was due for a redesign for a new generation — and that time has come in a pretty historic way.
Playboy released it’s first nudity issue cover, which perfectly captures the millennial market they’re targeting.
It’s actually a pretty perfect cover, as it perfectly captures the era that we live in. It’s the Snapchat and Selfie generation, where empowerment is more than about being nude and not caring. That was a Generation X thing, where kissing someone of the same gender to make squares uncomfortable is a thing of the past.
This new generation is all about progression over aggression. That’s what this issue captures, as Playboy is actually going to be about the articles instead of that just being a cover for when you get caught.
In fact, the very idea of someone being upset that Playboy won’t be featuring nudes is the power behind the move, and the point that millennials have made and had heard.
