According to a police report, Johnny Manziel savagely abused his girlfriend before threatening to kill her.
Johnny Manziel’s girlfriend Colleen Crowley told police following a January 30th incident that the quarterback threatened to kill her after he savagely abused her, according to a recently released report.
The police report from the incident on January 30th has been released, via WFAA, and the details are about as chilling as it gets. To say that the incident was downplayed by Manziel’s camp is a gross overstatement as the details in the police report are brutal.
According to WFAA in Dallas, Manziel threatened to kill Crowley while suffering from what the victim believed was a ‘psychotic break’.
"She says at that time Manziel “started laughing” and then reportedly yelled at her to “shut up or I’ll kill us both.”"
Crowley also detailed an incident that night in which Manziel dragged her away from valet service while she pleaded to witnesses not to let him take her.
"“I was crying and begged the valet, ‘Please don’t let him take me. I’m scared for my life!'” she told police. The valet reportedly told her, “I don’t know what to do” and let Manziel leave with her."
This is disgusting and it’s hard to read. Football is the last thing that anyone should be thinking about, as Manziel’s issues are about as out of control as they could be. This goes beyond just having a problem with partying too much, as it sounds like Manziel has serious problems that are effecting the people around him in horrible ways.
The NFL says that it was aware of the police report before its release, since it was already doing an investigation of their own.
Of course, the biggest story of this past week wasn’t what Manziel did to his girlfriend, it was about what was next in his football career. Players like Michael Irvin have said they’re going to try and get Manziel his next job, but this police report makes Manziel radioactive in more than one way.
