Harrison Barnes is tired of fans saying they love him when they really just love Stephen Curry

There’s no real question about the fact that, despite the popularity of the Golden State Warriors as a team, that Stephen Curry is the brightest star from the reigning champions and current holders of the best record in the NBA. Apparently this makes Curry’s teammate in Harrison Barnes just a little sad.

Barnes took to social media on Friday night to post a hysterical Vine of how Curry’s fame among Warriors fans makes him feel. The video features a fan walking up to Barnes saying that the forward is his favorite Warriors player. Barnes shows him love, says thank you, and is then met with a cruel reality. As the fan walks away, Barnes sees that he’s wearing a Curry jersey. Cue the viral “Why you always lying” song and the most stone-faced, sad look ever coming over Barnes’ face:

If you happen to be a professional athlete wondering how to effectively use Vine or any other social media platform to help make yourself likable and to also troll your friends and teammates a little bit along the way, this is lesson No. 1. Barnes’ video is absolutely perfect as it’s legitimately hilarious and, as is the case with most good jokes, also has a bit of truth involved in it as well.

If there’s one things for fans to take away from all of this, it’s that you should stop lying to Harrison Barnes. Just look at how much it hurts him.
