Pacers star Paul George netted a circus shot from long range on Friday night against the Hawks
Paul George has done it all for the Indiana Pacers this season, from carrying the team with his scoring and playmaking on offense to anchoring the perimeter for the defense. However, he added another move to his leadership arsenal on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks: Knocking down impossible three-point attempts to give his keep his team alive.
Wit just over a minute remaining in the first quarter, there was a loose ball after a Pacers missed shot and George tipped it out to himself. Paul Millsap was also going after the ball and kind of bumped Paul George. Thinking he might get the foul call beyond the arc, PG-13 threw up a wild three-point attempt. There was no call, but it didn’t totally matter because his circus shot hit nothing but silk on it’s way through the net:
There’s almost no way that Paul George meant for that to happen on that play as he was definitely just trying to get three attempts from the charity stripe. However, his intentions don’t make the result of the play any less crazy or timely considering that it pulled Indiana within two points of the Hawks.
Unfortunately, PG-13’s circus shot was ultimately futile in trying to take down the Hawks as Atlanta pulled away over the final minute to secure the victory. Even still, this shot is probably far more lasting and memorable that a random win in February.
