Roger Goodell just killed a huge trend by dabbing on Good Morning America
It was nice while it lasted. Dabbing used to be such a cool and hilarious thing to do. The dab used to be a go-to celebration move for anyone. That includes Andy Reid and even teenage hockey players. Dabbing officially died when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dabbed on Good Morning America.
This is why the NFL cannot have nice things. Nice knowing you, dabbing. You died way too young. To quote the great Billy Joel, “Only the good die young.” We’ll send flowers to Cam Newton.
It was cool when Andy Reid dabbed because he at least put his soul into it. Goodell found a way to destroy something that was viewed as fun and hilarious. Roger Goodell has more pressing issues at hand like the league’s 50th Super Bowl on Sunday to worry about destroying something fun. He also has to worry about the league’s rules and possibly the new Johnny Manziel allegations.
Dabbing was brought back as a trend by Cam Newton as a touchdown celebration. Many athletes and public figures followed suit. It was cool when Robin Roberts did the dab, but Goodell killed it.
