Super Bowl 50 featured Jerry Rice showing up in his best Matrix glasses.
Jerry Rice is no stranger to the Super Bowl, as he’s won a handful of them in his day and is one of the best receivers to have ever played the game. Naturally, with the Super Bowl being in San Francisco this year and it being the 50th anniversary of the big game, Rice was on hand to usher in the festivities.
Rice decided to put on some shades before he walked out for the coin toss. The only problem was that they looked a little too close to what Morpheus wore in The Matrix.
His shades were pretty attention grabbing, and fans watching at home took to Twitter to draw the obvious comparisons to The Matrix, based on Rice’s shades.

Is Jerry Rice going to stay for the game you think, or will he be returning to the Matrix right after the coin flip? #SB50

Rice is a Super Bowl champion and a Hall of Famer so he can wear whatever the hell he wants to. He could have busted out the Elton John glasses and no one could really say anything to him. He’s a legend in the NFL — and the fact that he brought back The Matrix references only makes him that much more legendary.
