Jesse Lingard broke the deadlock between Chelsea and Manchester United with a wonder goal, then celebrated by hitting the dab.

It took over 150 minutes between two games a little over a month apart for either Chelsea or Manchester United to score against each other, but the first goal was well worth the wait. It came from the least likely of players, too. Promising youngster Jesse Lingard got Manchester United on the scoresheet for just his fourth goal of the season.

He was unquestionably excited by it, and so he celebrated by hitting the dab:

Obviously the dab has taken the world by storm as of late, but Lingard’s decision to do it may have been due to the fact that the Carolina Panthers are about to play in the Super Bowl. After all, it wasn’t until Cam Newton did it after every touchdown that it really took off.

It was a really unfortunate sequence of events for Chelsea, as the goal came only moments after Kurt Zouma had to be taken off on a stretcher. It looked like he hyper-extended his knee and the team will hope that it’s not a serious injury because he’s been a key contributor for most of the season.

This is a crucial game for both teams as they need to start collecting results to get back to where they need to be in the Premier League table. For Chelsea, a loss would be the first for manager Guus Hiddink ever since he took over the club in midseason.
