The Panthers may have lost a big part of their offense in Super Bowl 50, as Jonathan Stewart is questionable to return.

The Carolina Panthers offense has been explosive all year long, and a good part of that has been the efforts of running back Jonathan Stewart. So you would imagine that he’d be a big key for the team in Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos, but there might be a problem in that department.

In the first quarter of this one while the Panthers were on offense, Stewart went to the sideline and it appeared that he suffered a foot injury.

Well, that was indeed the case, and now he is questionable to return in this one.

Stewart not returning to the game would be a serious blow to the Panthers and the offense. While talented, Cam Newton needs some room to work and Stewart out of the backfield provides just that. With him not in the game, the plan for the Carolina offense gets just a little bit smaller, which is the last thing you want in a game of this magnitude.

As more becomes available on the injury to Stewart, we will keep you updated.

UPDATE: Stewart has returned to the game for the Panthers.
