Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart leaped over the defense for the tam’s first touchdown in Super Bowl 50.

The Denver Broncos came out and rattled the Carolina Panthers early in Super Bowl 50. Just when it looked like nerves were affecting the young Panthers against the veteran Broncos, the Panthers found their composure and the Broncos lost theirs.

After the Panthers went right down the field, Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib was called for a nasty facemask penalty, which set up the Panthers in good position to score their first touchdown of the day on the goal line.

With both teams stacked up on the goal line, Newton handed back to veteran running back Jonathan Stewart, who had a massive leap over the defense and landed in the end zone for the very first Panthers touchdown on the day.

Fullback Mike Tolbert did a great job of cutting off the edge defender, which allowed Stewart the room that he needed to take off and launch over the defense. With a great push up front, Stewart had just enough room to get over and he made the most of his leap.

The Broncos jumped on the board early, but it was a great drive by the Panthers and a bad defensive series by the Broncos that led to Stewart’s touchdown.
