Jordan Norwood gashes Panthers for a 61-yard punt return (Video)

Jordan Norwood of the Broncos went 61 yards on the punt return making it the longest in Super Bowl history.
After the Carolina Panthers got on the board, it looked like momentum was shifting their way. However, Jordan Norwood went 61 yards on an ensuing punt return to put the Denver Broncos in prime field position. It was also the longest punt return in Super Bowl history:
His play was much better than Scott Norwood’s. Although if there’s one thing they have in common, it’s that they both went wide right.
It was good enough to give the Broncos a field goal after picking up a penalty on a fourth-down conversion attempt. While any points are good, the Broncos will be lamenting only coming away with three points after such a long punt return.
The Broncos should be encouraged that they haven’t trailed in the game yet. Not many people picked them to win, and some thought it would be a blowout. There’s still a lot of time left, but the Panthers haven’t yet hit their offensive stride. A lot of that is due to their number one-ranked defense which has won them games so often this season, and could very well do the same in the Super Bowl.
