33. 1995 Dallas Cowboys (SB XXX)

The 1995 Dallas Cowboys were the final Cowboys team to win a Super Bowl during their monumental run in the 1990s and, as such, they were certainly no slouches in terms of talent or production. However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that they aren’t hurt a bit in the rankings by being compared to the 1992 and 1993 Cowboys teams that also won Super Bowls with the same cast of characters.

Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin were still in Dallas on the offensive side of the ball, and produced at as high of a level as you would expect. Dallas put up 27.2 points per game on the regular season, the No. 3-ranked scoring offense in the NFL on the year. They also posted the No. 3-ranked scoring defense in the league with a unit led by the charismatic Deion Sanders. They finished the year 12-4 before entering the postseason.

They were largely impressive in the playoffs, but the Cowboys certainly didn’t run away from anyone like they did in 1992 and 1993. Obviously they were just as talented with many of the same players on the roster, but the 1995 Dallas team just wasn’t on the level of the two other Cowboys teams from the 1990s that we’ll get to in later in the rankings.
