9. 1998 Denver Broncos (SB XXXIII)

The 1998 NFL season would ultimately prove to be Denver Broncos legendary quarterback John Elway’s last in the league, but he found a way to go out on top, even though he started only 12 games throughout the season due to injury. However, with more than enough help around him on his way to achieving glory, the Broncos under Mike Shanahan picked up their second consecutive Super Bowl victory and did so while establishing themselves as an all-time great team.

While Elway and all-name team member Bubby Brister combined to play solidly at the quarterback in 1998, there’s no doubt that running back Terrell Davis carried Denver to being the No. 2 offense in the country as he amassed 2,008 yards on the ground and found the end zone 21 times through the running game. Bill Romanowski and company comprised a top-10 defense on the year for the Broncos, but no one can deny that Davis was the heart of this Denver team and their driving force.

The Broncos started off their run in the postseason after going 14-2 in the regular season with a 38-3 throttling of the Dolphins and followed it up with a 13-point win over the Jets in the AFC title game. They didn’t stop there, though, as their domination continued with a 34-19 win in the Super Bowl to cement Elway’s, Davis’, and this team’s legacy.
