Stephen A. Smith teed off on Cam Newton for walking out of his Super Bowl 50 press conference.

It was a rough night for Cam Newton, as the Panthers lost the Super Bowl and he failed to shut his critics up the way we thought he might. In losing, Cam Newton opens up a platform for the mouth breathers who harbor ill-will towards him to talk down to him and everyone who defended him. While Newton has to face the music for living in the spotlight the way he has been all season, he’s going to get slayed for walking out of his Super Bowl press conference.

Standing at the front of the line is the always calm and never outspoken Stephen A. Smith.

After the game and after Cam Newton walked out of his press conference, Stephen A. teed off on the Panthers quarterback:

Of course, we’re going to hear a million think pieces from both sides on Newton walking off his press conference. People who already hated Cam Newton because he’s an African American quarterback who smiled too much are going to feast on this. People who are afraid of looking uncool if they don’t defend Cam are going to stick up for him.

The truth is, this is just a guy who lost the biggest game of his career and he wasn’t ready to talk about it. That doesn’t mean he’ll stay tight lipped forever, but you can’t blame a guy for refusing to say something he might regret by saying nothing at all.

That’s what Stephen A., Jason Whitlock and Colin Cowherd are here for — I guess.
