It’s never too early to look towards the NFL Draft, and here is how long you’ll have to wait.
The offseason is basically upon the NFL and it is time the time of year that optimism and hope returns to all 32 teams. Aside from free agency, the NFL Draft presents a lot of opportunity for teams to get much needed help at positions for relatively less than they might have to fork over in free agency.
So when will the NFL Draft be in 2016? The first round will be on Thursday, April 28th. The second and third round will be the next night, April 29th. Then the fourth through seventh rounds will be on April 30th.
Last year the draft was held outside of New York City for the first time in years, and it was a wildly successful event in Chicago. The Draft in the Windy City felt like an event for everyone with the fan village in Grant Park.
In 2016, the Draft will again be held in Chicago and with the mild winter the city has had so far this season, it could be a beautiful weekend on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Before the draft though is the NFL Scouting Combine, where prospects audition for NFL teams. The timing and testing will be held Feb. 23-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
