The Sacramento Kings are preparing to fire head coach George Karl in the next few days

The Sacramento Kings were one of the feel good stories through their first 42 games. They had a 19-23 record as they were holding onto the eighth seed in the Western Conference. A large part of that was head coach George Karl.

The Kings have gone 2-8 over their last 10 games, though, including losing four straight at the end of Monday February. Sacramento doesn’t want to wait for things to even out, apparently, as they have reportedly decided to fire Karl within the next few days.

George Karl has been great for the Kings offense, leading them to 107.1 points per game (third in the league). He has done especially well with point guard Rajon Rondo, helping him turn a one-year contract into what could be a multi-year max deal. The Kings average 24.8 assists per game (fourth in the NBA). Karl and the Kings, however, have struggled horribly defensively. They allow 108.9 points per game, 30th in the NBA.

Karl has allegedly not being getting along well with the locker room either. Kings players have been expressing the need for change and accountability. Karl was supposed to help change the revolving door that the Kings had at head coach.

It appears that the revolving door will continue to move.
