Stephen A. Smith calls Cam Newton a ‘coward’ and ‘brat’ on First Take (Video)

Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless weighed in on Cam Newton’s press conference on First Take.

Cam Newton was humbled in Super Bowl 50 and it was a humbling that birthed a billion think pieces about his antics this season. Less than 24 hours after the Broncos won the Super Bowl, everyone and their sister has an opinion on Cam walking out of his press conference after his humbling — with some using it against him and others fearing being uncool if they criticize him.

Of course, one of the most outspoken pundits on any matter is Stephen A. Smith. So who better to way in on this than the First Take crew

Smith was pretty animated on Twitter on Sunday night, calling out Newton for walking out on his press conference. He continued to weigh in on the whole matter on First Take and it was everything you thought it would be.

This is actually pretty tanned down, as Smith usually flies into these sorts of rants at a 0-100 pace. That didn’t happen, but we did get a patent Stephen A. double back when he called Cam a coward but didn’t say he was actually calling him a coward. A little later on, Smith amended his ‘coward’ comment — which he said he didn’t care if people ran with — yb calling Cam a ‘brat’.

Skip Bayless said some things about Newton as well, but like all First Take rant — no one really cared. He was overshadowed by Smith, who probably ended up having the softest of the hot takes we’re going to hear about the Panthers quarterback.
