The Cleveland Cavaliers might be interested in trading for Kyle Korver, Omer Asik or Tyreke Evans.

With the NBA trade deadline less than two weeks away, it’s time to start haring big name teams added to the rumor mill. There might not be a bigger team in the trade market than the Cleveland Cavaliers, who seem to be looking to add one more piece to their puzzle before the deadline passes.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Cavaliers have shown an interest in trading to Kyle Korver or Omer Asik. Additionally, Windy has heard that Tyreke Evans is on the Cavs list as well.

As far as fits go, it’s not surprising to hear Cleveland mentioned with a sharpshooter, a guard and a bench big. The Cavs know all about Omer Asik from his days in Chicago and were daggered more than a few times by Korver in Atlanta. Adding Korver makes the most sense, as he’d fill the role that we all expected Ray Allen to come out of retirement for but never did.

Evans is the least likely to be traded to Cleveland and it’s almost shocking to hear him rumored here. He’s not a pass-first guard and it seems like his style of play would clash with the Cavs offensive flow. After all, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving are main points in the offensive game along with LeBron James — who will never be second fiddle in anyone’s offense. That would make Evans aa fourth option on the floor, and that doesn’t sound like something he’d be down for or that would work if it was tried.

Korea coming to Cleveland could be the missing link in the championship puzzle — but that’s hard to say. Mike Miller filled a similar role on LeBron’s championship teams in Miami but failed to make an impact when they reunited in Cleveland. Korver is still better than Miller, but it’s hard to say adding him will instantly make the Cavs better than the Warriors. It does help counter the Dubs jump shot offense though, and at least adds an extra dimension to the Cavs that isn’t there now.
