Jimmy Butler injury update: Bulls star out 3-4 weeks with knee injury
By Jack Crosby
The Bulls got some news they really didn’t need on Tuesday, that Jimmy Butler will be out for possibly a month.
Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler will be missing what you might call a significant amount of time with a strained left knee. On Friday night against the Denver Nuggets, Butler suffered the injury in the second quarter, and while it looked as if he might be fine, he indeed was not and he even had to be wheeled off the court. Now, the news is in that Butler will be out three to four weeks with the injury, leaving him off the court for possibly an entire month.
Butler is having yet another outstanding season for the Bulls as they make a push for a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The shooting guard this season is averaging 22.4 points per game with 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Once again he’s one of the more productive members of this roster, so losing him for even this amount of time is a crushing blow.
Sitting at just the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, this could not have come at a worse time for the team. The second half of the year for this group is crucial, and not having Butler and his scoring ability out there every night for maybe the next month is quite the hindrance.
