It looks like George Karl won’t be leaving the Sacramento Kings anytime soon, as they’ve decided to keep him.

Given the reports from a few days ago, here on Tuesday you were probably waiting to learn at some point that the Sacramento Kings have fired head coach George Karl. Just on Sunday it was reported that they were ready to pull the trigger on the move within the next few days, so it only makes sense that this is the news that we’d be waiting for.

Yeah, well, don’t hold your breath, because the Kings have pulled a total Kings move once again.

Apparently, just days after they were ready to make the move any day now, they’ve had a change of heart and decided that maybe it won’t be so bad to keep Karl around after all.

Yeah, this is something that the Kings have pulled, but really, are any of us surprised? Even though we were all ready to see the departure of Karl from the organization, given who they are, are we really all that shocked this is how things are playing out from one of the most dysfunctional organizations in all of the NBA?

Now granted, to make it look more like the firing was coming, reportedly only three Kings players showed up to shootaround on Monday, with Rajon Rondo being one of them.

But, again, Karl will be sticking around for a while, so these guys had better start showing up to practice.

The Kings, once in contention for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, now sit with a 21-31 record and five spots behind of the No. 8 seed in the playoff race.
