Did you know Jared Sullinger’s real name is actually “Trade Bait?”

Don’t worry; I didn’t either.

Leading into the third quarter of the Boston Celtics’ Wednesday night matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, Sullinger tossed some of his warmup gear onto Chris Mannix, who was reporting from the sidelines for CSN New England. Mannix handled the situation like the real MVP, stopping only briefly to utter “Thank you, trade bait,” before moving on.

The moment was, quiet predictably, absolutely glorious:

This is not out of character for Sullinger. He has decorated Mannix in warmup garb before.

Still, was Sullinger acting out of pure humor this time, or was there malice behind his on-air clowning, perhaps because Mannix recently revealed that Celtics president Danny Ainge is “excited about” possibly acquiring Al Horford? We will never know—unless, of course, Sullinger is moved as part of a package for Horford ahead of the Feb. 18 trade deadline.

Then we’ll totally know.
