Kobe Bryant doesn’t so much have hot takes as he does wonderfully weird, possibly accurate takes on human reproduction.

Over at Complex Sports, Serena Winters polled a bunch of media-types on the most noteworthy Kobe encounters they’ve experienced through his 20-year NBA career. The entire thing is an awesome read, so, you know, read it. But Eric Pincus, now a writer for the Los Angeles Times, stole the show with the most unorthodox of anecdotes:

"“There was one thing, years ago, I had two girls and we were talking about how we were going to try to have a third. And, he told me that to have a boy, I need to keep my socks on with my wife…that was his advice. I did not listen, and I have a third girl.”"

Well, there you have it. Family-building advice as offered by Kobe Bryant.

It’s definitely odd, most assuredly sounds crazy and, judging from Pincus’ own experiences, possibly true. Feel free to drop your own pearls of wisdom—sans any graphic detail, please—if you have them.

And just for the record, Kobe himself has two daughters. So it stands to reason he’s not a socks-during-coitus kind of guy.
