San Antonio Spurs vs Orlando Magic

Since going on a mini dry spell, losing two of three games and giving up an uncharacteristic 118.5 points in the defeats to the Cavaliers and Warriors, the San Antonio Spurs have won five straight. This team is once again hitting on all cylinders and the Spurs are attempting to keep pace with the four-loss Warriors, posting a 44-8 record.

No one gives the Spurs enough credit for being one of the league’s best teams, but you’ll hear more from San Antonio in the coming years, especially with guys like Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge leading the way. Leonard averages 20 points and 6.6 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from long-range while Aldridge is is putting up 16.7 points and 8.5 boards.

On the other hand, the Orlando Magic are much improved from a season ago, but sitting at 23-28, they’re still about three games out of the playoff picture. Scott Skiles has done a tremendous job bringing this team out of the cellar and helping these young players realize they potential. Beating the Spurs would be a huge momentum building heading into the NBA All-Star Break.

Big man Nikola Vucevic is leading the way, averaging 17.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. Victor Oladipo is one of the league’s top young players as well and the electric shooting guard is putting up 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
