The 2016 NFL Scouting Combine list has been announced.
On Feb. 23, the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine will start with its first day of activity, wrapping up on Feb. 29. We now know who will be at the event, per NFL.com. While some of the players will eventually pull out because of injury or fear of a falling draft stock, most of these youngsters will show up in hopes of getting selected earlier.
For the quarterbacks, there are 18 being called to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The main names to watch are Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Cardale Jones, Christian Hackenberg, Paxton Lynch, Connor Cook and Vernon Adams. Of all the positions, that will always be the most scrutinized and most impactful.
Beyond the signal-callers are plenty of other stars. How does defensive end Robert Nkemdiche perform after his off-field issues in recent weeks? Can he vault himself into the top 10 picks or does he slides toward the second round? Does Ezekiel Elliott and Derrick Henry make a strong case for the first round or do they belong on the second day? Does Jalen Ramsey or Vernon Hargreaves emerge as the top defensive back in the class?
A pro-tip for all you fine folks watching: forget about the 40-yard dash, watch the 10-yard shuttle run and the directional drills. That makes all the difference.
