The University of Akron is giving away Lebron James bobbleheads in a delusional act to sell tickets.

It’s looks like the University of Akron will be celebrating “alternate reality night” on March 1 when they give away LeBron James bobbleheads at their men’s basketball game.

The James figurine shows LeBron in a white Zips jersey rocking the No. 23. Of course, LeBron didn’t play college ball, and if he did, Akron? Come on.

LeBron James is from Akron, and yes he is very proud of it, but this is pushing it. I know a ticket to a basketball game in Akron isn’t exactly difficult to come by, but to pretend one of the greatest basketball players to ever lace ’em up played at Akron is like an unfunny joke. This is minor league baseball schtick to sell tickets, which they will.

Granted, the LBJ bobblehead is one in a series of bobbleheads featuring James’ high school teammates Dru Joyce and Romeo Travis, the only difference being those two actually hooped at Akron!

It’s a nice gesture for the chosen son of Akron and a great way to drum up interest at least for one game.

I just can’t wait for Peyton Manning bobblehead night in the 2016 Akron football season!
