Luke Kuechly leads more states in NFL jersey sales than Cam Newton

Luke Kuechly’s jersey seems to be a little more popular than that of his quarterback, Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers had one heck of a season this year in the NFL, but unfortunately they could not complete the journey the right way. This past Sunday in Super Bowl 50 they fell short of the ultimate goal, dropping the big game to the Denver Broncos, 24-10.

Still, though, this team was pretty successful this year with its litany of stars, especially the polarizing Cam Newton under center. Now on the surface, you would automatically assume that Newton is not only the man on the team when it comes to leading them every Sunday, but in jersey sales as well given his popularity.

Well, that’s not actually the case. As a matter of fact, the man from the Panthers that is killing it in jersey sales doesn’t even play on the offensive side of the ball, rather he’s the one who commands the defensive unit.

Yes, linebacker Luke Kuechly has just been crushing it when it comes to jersey sales all season long, and his edge on Newton is so big in that department that he leads in three states within the country, while Cam only commands one. This according to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report which represents sales both nationwide and online.

Some people might be surprised by this, and that would be understandable. Generally it’s the offensive stars that get all the love when it comes to jersey sales, but not in this regard. Kuechly is so dominant at his position and so loved by the NFL fans that he’s just taking over more states than Newton is.
