It looks like the Rockets are more than ready to part ways with Dwight Howard, as they’re actively shopping him.

As the NBA Trade Deadline nears here in 2016, one of the names that everyone has been wondering about in regards to whether or not they will be on a new team is Dwight Howard. For quite a while now we’ve heard his name mentioned in a few rumblings, but there hasn’t really been anything that carried some weight along with it.

Well, until now, that is.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Houston Rockets have already started getting on the phone with teams around the NBA and gauging some interest in a deal that would include Howard. The teams that the Rockets have contacted at the moment were not named in the report, but they’ve definitely reached out to more than one.

The Rockets came into this season with a lot of high hopes with some even thinking they could be a contender in the Western Conference, one of the teams that could potentially chase down the Golden State Warriors. Well, they have been anything but, as they’ve gotten off  to a poor 27-28 start to the year with the NBA All-Star break coming up this weekend. Not where this team expected to be, but that’s where they are and now it’s time to start making some moves.

This season for the Rockets, Howard is averaging 14.6 points per game with 12 rebounds. They would be losing some production from his end, but with the state this team is in, it could prove worth it down the road as they look to get back on the right track.
