Here are the safeties that will be participating in the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

The back end of every great defense in the NFL needs to have good safeties to be able to be successful. Safeties have the ability to pick up the rest of their defense along with making the big play to seal a win. With the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis drawing near, teams are going to get a good look at the safeties in this year’s class.

Teams are going to be looking different types of safeties in this draft. Some teams will be looking for a free safety with plenty of range, while others might be looking for a strong safety that can come in and lay some big hits in the ground game.

This draft has a little bit of both and there are some prospects at the top of this year’s draft that will really stand out for teams in the draft.

"Vonn Bell (FS), Ohio StateLaMarcus Brutus (SS), Florida StateDeon Bush (FS), Miami (Fla.)Tevin Carter (SS), UtahJeremy Cash (SS), DukeK.J. Dillon (SS), MarylandKavon Frazier (FS), Central MichiganT.J. Green (FS), ClemsonDeAndre Houston-Carson (FS), William & MaryKarl Joseph (SS), West VirginiaJayron Kearse (SS), ClemsonMiles Killebrew (SS), Southern UtahDerrick Kindred (FS), TCUJordan Lomax (FS), IowaJordan Lucas (SS), Penn StateJalen Mills (SS), LSUKeanu Neal (SS), FloridaTyvis Powell (SS), Ohio StateElijah Shumate (SS), Notre DameJustin Simmons (FS), Boston CollegeA.J. Stamps (FS), KentuckyDarian Thompson (FS), Boise State"

What makes this safety class intriguing is the fact that some of the more talented prospects don’t come from the bigger schools. Darian Thompson is one of the most exciting free safety prospects in the draft and will be one that every team in need of a safety will try to get their hands on.

Miles Killebrew out of Southern Utah might be one of the hardest hitting players in the draft and has worked his way up the draft boards already. Many believe he’s the next physical safety that could be big in the league. As is the case with the combine, one of these safeties will shoot their way up the draft boards of teams.
