A look at the tight ends that will be participating in the NFL Scouting Combine this month.

Now that the NFL season has come to a close with the playing of Super Bowl 50, it’s now time to start focusing on one of the best events of the entire year in the sport, the NFL Draft. Of course, the biggest part of this process is the annual Scouting Combine held in Indianapolis every February, and on Thursday the participants were released.

One of the positions that has become pretty prevalent in recent years is the tight end position. As the offenses spread out a little more in the league, you’re starting to see tight ends become more involved in the game plans. Some of the best receivers in the league actually play the position, so this is a pretty important one to look at during the Combine this year.

Here’s a look at the tight ends that got the invite to the Scouting Combine on Thursday.

Tight ends

Jerell Adams, South Carolina
Stephen Anderson, California
Ben Braunecker, Harvard
Thomas Duarte, UCLA
David Grinnage, North Carolina State
Temarrick Hemingway, South Carolina State
Hunter Henry, Arkansas
Tyler Higbee, Western Kentucky
Austin Hooper, Stanford
Ryan Malleck, Virginia Tech
Jake McGee, Florida
David Morgan, Texas-San Antonio
Beau Sandland, Montana State
Nick Vannett, Ohio State
Bryce Williams, East Carolina

There are some pretty versatile tight ends in that grouping right there, especially Thomas Duarte out of UCLA, who should be someone to keep an eye on. He was one of the bigger threats in the Bruins’ offense and could translate well to the next level.

Another one to keep an eye on is Hunter Henry of Arkansas, who had an outstanding season last year in the SEC for Bret Bielema and the Razorbacks.

The 2016 NFL Scouting Combine will take place in Indianapolis from February 23-29.
