When does spring training start for the San Francisco Giants in 2016?

The Sn Francisco Giants had a very good 2015, going 84-78 on the season, but unfortunately they missed the playoffs. Fortunately, it is an even year, which means their chances of winning the World Series is very likely. After a very productive offseason, Bruce Bochy’s squad is looking to increase their odds and win their fourth World Series in seven seasons.

Pitchers and catchers report for the Giants on February 17th, position players arrive the 22nd and the first full team workout is on the 23rd.

Spring Training should be buzzing after the team’s recent additions of pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Johnny Cueto. Samardzija had an okay year for the White Sox, while Cueto helped lead the Kansas City Royals to a World Series championship. These two pitchers join a rotation with the likes of Chris Heston, Matt Cain and the dominant Madison Bumgarner. If their staff can stay healthy this season they should be a force to be reckoned with.

The Giants also added outfielder Denard Span into the mix. He joins a group of feisty players led by Buster Posey. The former NL MVP is looking to lead the Giants back into the Promised Land. Also along for the ride is the powerful Brandon Belt, Gold Glove shortstop Brandon Crawford and two young studs in Matt Duffy and Joe Panik. This young team is ready to have a breakout year in the NL West.
