When will the St. Louis Cardinals report to spring training in 2016?

The St. Louis Cardinals will be going into the 2016 season looking to win their 12th World Series title. Last year, many thought that St. Louis was a sure bet after winning more than 100 games in 2015, but were knocked out in the National League Division Series by the Chicago Cubs. The only significant losses of the offseason were starting pitcher John Lackey and outfielder Jason Heyward.

The Cardinals will begin reporting to spring training on Feb. 17 with pitchers and catchers. The St. Louis rotation should be strong again in 2016 after putting up incredible numbers in 2015. St. Louis will be hoping that starting pitcher Mike Leake can add further depth and that starting pitcher Adam Wainwright is ready to contribute after missing all of last year. It should be interesting to see if relief pitcher Seung-hwan Oh adds anything to their already deep bullpen.

The Cards will have their first workout on Feb. 18. Catcher Yadier Molina will be getting to know Leake and Oh and reacquaint himself with the rest of the pitchers. On Feb. 22, the rest of the position players will report. Infielder Jedd Gyorko will be reporting to St. Louis after being traded from the San Diego Padres. They will hold their first full squad workout on Feb. 23.
