Andrew Wiggins slams down alley-oop at NBA Rising Stars Game (Video)
Andrew Wiggins and Emmanuel Mudiay are bringing the entertainment early on in the NBA Rising Stars Game.
With the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game out of the way, it’s time for the NBA Rising Stars Game. This features the top rookies and sophomores in the league going head to head. The exception is they are being split into two teams—Team USA and Team World. New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis and Minnesota Timberwolves players Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns are among the many talents in this game.
In the first half of this contest, the Canadian-born Wiggins got things going early with a nice alley-oop that he threw down via a pass from Denver Nuggets guard Emmanuel Mudiay. The rookie charged to the hoop and tossed a pass backwards to the trailing Wiggins who slammed the basketball through the hoop.
With more plays like this, it’s possible Mudiay or Wiggins could take home the MVP award of this exhibition game if their team wins.
More exciting moments like this should be taking place throughout Friday night’s game with acrobats on display and little defense from both sides. It’s usually a lite version of the All-Star Game, which takes place on Sunday night at the Air Canada Centre.
