Dwight Powell threw down a putback slam in the first half of the NBA Rising Stars Game.

Following the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, the NBA Rising Stars Game took place from the Air Canada Centre on Friday night. The game features rookies and sophomores from the NBA, including the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, the New York Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis and the Utah Jazz’s Rodney Hood. They were put on Team USA and Team World instead of the usual rookies vs. sophomores in this exhibition matchup.

The first half of the game has been high-scoring, with the teams putting up nearly 200 combined points. This has been due to little defense and a bunch of dunks to entertain the crowd.

One of those dunks came from the Dallas Mavericks’ Dwight Powell, who threw down this putback slam off a missed three-pointer for Team World to tie up the score.

Powell’s slam was one of many dunks and highlights seen in the first half with Team USA up 88-79 with 20 minutes left to go. There will surely be many more crazy plays in the lite version of the NBA All-Star Game as the NBA All-Star Weekend continues for the next few days.
