2) Los Angeles Clippers trade Baron Davis and a 2011 1st-round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Jamario Moon and Mo Williams

Baron Davis makes his second appearance on this list, but for the wrong reasons.

At the 2011 NBA Trade Deadline, the Los Angeles Clippers traded away Davis and their 2011 1st round pick to create cap space since every team is always looking for more money. The rebuilding Cleveland Cavaliers had no problem with this, taking on the pick and Davis’ bloated contract for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon.

What the Clippers did not expect was for that 1st round pick to turn into the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. The choice turned into Duke point guard Kyrie Irving who has since become one of the league’s best at the position. He also helped kick-start the process of the Cavs rising back up and helped them sign LeBron James in free agency before the 2014-2015 season.

The Clippers would go on to trade for Chris Paul with that cap space, which isn’t a bad thing at all. How about if they had both players, though? Could they have coexisted?
