A trade in preliminary discussions between the Knicks, Cavaliers, and Celtics could see Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love be moved

As the NBA Trade Deadline rapidly approaches, it seems that the potential trades that could be made are rumored to be getting bigger and bigger. However, the latest rumor involving the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Celtics being in talks about a deal that would move both Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love is by far the biggest one to come to light yet.

According to a report from Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, the Cavaliers and Celtics have been in talks for quite some time about a deal involving power forward Kevin Love. However, the Knicks have come into the fold recently in preliminary discussions about a three-team trade that would send Carmelo Anthony to Cleveland.

Obviously the Knicks would have to get something back with Love going to the Celtics and Melo going to the Cavaliers in this trade that’s reportedly being discussed. According to Isola, New York would get a package that would include multiple draft picks and player, including current Cavs center Timofey Mozgov.

There’s no question that a deal involving just one of Love or Anthony would go down as the blockbuster trade at the 2016 deadline. However, this deal that’s reportedly being put on the table as for now would absolutely rock the NBA in a major way—specifically in the Eastern Conference.

However, there’s always one deal like this that gets floated around in a rumor before each NBA Trade Deadline that never actually comes to fruition. That could very well be the case here, but these are all three teams looking to make moves and, although it would cause a huge shift, this actually isn’t an insensible move for any of the teams involved. Now the only question is whether or not any deal involving Love and Anthony will get done before the Feb. 18 deadline or not.
